Found a few old Pics the other day!
These were taken on a trip to 100 Islands in 1979 (I think), picked the ladies from various Bars in Angeles and bussed it up to Alaminos.
We had to negotiate a price for trikes to take us down to where the Hotels were on the coast, so being experienced in dealing with the scumbag trike drivers in Angleles (Yes they were cnuts even then) we aggressivly bargained with them and ended up paying 2 pesos for each trike.
The ride took about 15 mins, so we were a bit embarrased about the price we had got from the drivers, so we invited them in for a few beers as way of recompense.
Not sure what 100 Islands is like now but it was pretty good back then.
The ladies of course will now be Grannies!
This was taken in 1981 outside the Rire Empire (Long Gone) on Macarthur Hwy
I was living in Angeles then and scored a part time job as Captain/Coach of the Clark Air Base Soccer team, we playing in the Manila League and travelled down to Manila each Saturday to play against the various teams in the league.
I had to teach the Yanks the finer points of sports ettiquette as above.
Word got back to the powers that be on the base that we were not showing the USA Air Force in a good light to the locals.
We also had a near riot in Manila, when one of the guys on our team, snotted one of the oppostion for calling him a black motherf#ucker, causing us to beat a hasty retreat to the bus and a speedy exit out of there, complete with the locals throwing anything they could get there hands on at the bus................happy days.
After that no more trips to Manila!
Then started palying rugby with the base team along with an English friend, which was much more fun!
