I thought I'd post this, not sure if anyone is too interested as I'm not an expert by any means. But perhaps it can at least give others some current info.
I arrived after my milk-run flight late on the 18th and pulled into AC at about 2am. It's my first mongering trip, although I have indulged in Costa Rica on a more "vacation" type trip. So coming into AC was a bit shocking. I've seen poverty before, I've been to Africa so it wasn't that shocking, but I've never seen so many girls! All types here, many very attractive ones. My flight was a bit of a marathon, so I thought I'd go get a massage. I went to the one directly across from Pacific Breeze where I'm staying. It was ok, especially for the price. The masseuse was understandably tired at 2:30am and I'm sure it would have been better during the day. Afterwards I went out to Crystal Palace and walked in the front door. Here is where I got really lucky. I went in completely without a game plan. Definitely a rookie mistake. I walked in and what I assume was the mamasan pointed me to a table with a laser pointer. I'm a 30 year old white guy with a bit of a gut. I'm not grotesque, more of a football/hockey guy gone to seed. At home, girls rarely give me a second glance. At Crystal Palace I was quite a hot commodity, which is quite a switch from normal life. Immediately waitresses began flocking to my table. In the neighborhood of 10-12 of them. Of course they all wanted a ladies drink. I declined and picked out one of them to buy a drink for. I liked her, she seemed a little bit shy and was really pretty. So I bought her a drink and assumed I'd played my hand well. Turned out I hadn't. Girls kept coming to my table and I ended up buying 4 other ladies drinks for them. I felt bad for them and I guess I was kind of an easy mark. At any rate, lesson learned. I took my waitress back to the hotel and she was excellent company. She was smart, which I like and had my favorite body type which is smaller spinner. She loved kissing and we had fun together. I won't go into detail because I never asked her permission, but she was the best I've ever had. Her name is Jocelyn if anyone wants to hang out with her. She stayed the night and gave me her number which I'll be using tomorrow. Today I went to a massage parlour. Not the same one, the massage was good and there was a happy ending. I can't remember the name of the place (I'll look later and edit this post), but it was on fields avenue right across from the German/Swiss hotel. Pretty girl, excellent massage.
I won't be pulling a girl tonight because of the NFL playoffs. Yes, I am that dedicated. Huge Canadian Broncos fan. If anyone is getting together to watch and is looking for more people, let me know!
Pacific Breeze: It's been excellent so far. One of the security guys took me down on the back of his scooter to exchange my money. The restaurant and front desk staff have been excellent. They called me when my girl left today, which I appreciate as it makes things really secure. The beds are hard, which I like, but not everyone does. The room is great, very clean and they upgraded me from the superior to the jacuzzi for free. I used it with Jocelyn and will again. My one complaint is that the standard free toiletries and water all cost money here. Thanks to those who came before me on this site I knew ahead of time and was prepared. Still seems kind of cheap though. Charge me 5 bucks more and give me free water and toiletries.
Safety: I've felt very safe everywhere I've been. I did a late night tour by myself and never felt threatened. I like seeing everything when I go places. Granted, I'm a big younger guy so I'm sure there are easier targets, but everyone was very friendly. I don't get drunk and make an ass of myself either. Not advocating the late night walks, it's always good to be careful, just saying I did it and didn't feel unsafe.
Food: I've eaten twice. At the PB I had the beef curry. It was good. Had some kind of street meat for the other meal. It was good too, but I checked with the security guy before I ate it...haha.
I'll update this thread with more experiences as I have them. One thing I definitely forgot was a converter for my laptop. I'm on North American power. So I might run out if I can't find one. Anyone know where I can buy one?
