I am preparing for my first trip to the Philippines. I have met someone online amd wil be meeting her When I arrive. The current plan is to spend two days in Manila and then travel to Butuan for 2 days, followed by 3 days at Camiguin Island.
I just saw the US travel warnings posted for the Philippines. The first warning is for the South Pacific Cyclone season amd increased storm activity. The second warning is related to security and travel to the island of Mindanao for terrorist amd insurgent activity.
I believe Butuan is on the islamd of Mindanao. Should I be concerned with these travel warnings amd consider changing my travel plans? I am currently scheduled to arrive in Manila on Feb 7. Do I need to be concerned about the increased storm activity? I know there have been additional Typhoons in parts of the Philippines.
