I'm not sure where to put this, so move it if necessary...
We'll be going out to feed all the Old Folks at their home tomorrow, Monday, leaving from Margarita at 10:15.
This is a fantastic event - and damn it I ALWAYS end up crying like a little baby!
It's headed up by JC of Margarita, who provides most of the food and a lot of staff.
Dave, manager of the Orchid Hotels chips in food and sends staff as well.
Fe & I chip in 70 pieces of Fe's Famous Mango Float for desert or to hide till later...LOL
All the food is donated by folks from all over - note the little white board thanking people from another Board.
If you want to go with and take a look and be seriously moved, send me a PM and we'll arrange it...
If you'd prefer to donate something, hey, that's ok also...LOL
I've been in AC a good long while and have kept TRYING to donate or give back or SOMETHING - but in the past, there has always been a DISCONNECT between the amount of money actually collected vs what was DISTRIBUTED...many of you remember the great fiasco where a much-hated bar owner said he was raising money for an "orphanage" and what a surprise, none of the money WENT WHERE IS WAS SUPPOSED TOO!
In this case, there is no disconnect - ALL the money donated and all the effort goes right to where it is needed!
And believe me, to watch beautiful Filipinas get on their hands and knees to spoon feed all these wonderfully appreciated old folks is just a TREASURE! And you KNOW where the donation is going!
