2Go Ferries, Cebu To Manila: Great Trip, Lousy Service !

I decided that as I has heading out of the country in early March, that I would take the 2Go Ferry trip from Cebu to Manila. I booked a State room, At a cost of 3,000 for the cabin, and a further 300 pesos for the extra passenger. Bear in mind that I asked for and got the senior discount ( available to all over the age of 60 years old ). The total cost  was 3.300 and this included the following : Two meals for Breakfast, 2 Lunches, 2 evening meals, also we had cable TV in the cabin, four channels, and one was for HBO and was in English, The other good thing is that in booking a Stateroom, you also get priority seating, and entry on board the ship !

The room was a twin bed configuration, I have asked about a double bed, but I don't think that they have them at all on the ferries .  The cabin also has their own bath, Shower, Toilet and HOT WATER !!! The latter was freely available, and we made use of this novelty ! There was also Air con, which could be adjusted to suite your taste.

The sad part about it, was that we had to ask for the extra blankets, and was given only one, we also asked for towels and was given one, and there was no facility to make a drink, ie a jug, or some tea and coffee making facilities.

Breakfast was served at 6.00 am to 8.00 am, a Lunch from 11.00am to 1.00pm. and the evening meal was from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Those who have booked Staterooms, are served their meals in a smaller private dining room, where there was one waiter, whose service skills were none existant.

The food was continually served on Cold Plates, and therefore by the time the meal came to you, it was less than tepid, in temperature. !  I endured the cold food at Breakfast and also Lunch and had hoped to have the situation remedied, in the evening.... But it was not, so I sent the food back and got them to warm it up.

if you can get cabins no: 301.302,303, 304, you actually get the front of the boat, instead of a side view, which I found very enjoyable.

I booked the tickets at the 2Go Ferry office and asked what time we could go on board, I was advised that we could get on at 8.00 p.m. for a 10.00 p.m. sailing. Well we were operating on PI time, because we did on get on until 8.45 p.m. When we did get on board the boat, we were told to wait in the Reception area and we would be called to our suite. No explanation was given for the delay, but when I approached reception again, we were then taken up to the room.  They then tried to withhold the key, and expected us to collect the key every time we wanted to gain access to the room !

The Cabins were tastefully decorated, however were getting a little tired and they certainly needed re wall papering ! In closing, the journey takes 24 hours, we left about 10.00 p.m. and arrived in Manila the next night at 10.00 p.m. But it was 11.00 p.m. before we got off the ferry because of the crowd that was there
