I have a large collection...but I'll show a few pieces at a time.

The first image are of stamps between the end of World War II (Aug 1945) and Philippine independence (July 1946).

Notice they declare the Philippines as a Commonwealth of the United States.  There was commonly an overstrike saying "Victory" on them, perhaps as a morale booster as the country recovers from Japanese occupation.

The stamp on the left commemorates Philippines independence.  It's unclear who the woman holding the flag is supposed to represent.  Perhaps it's some symbolic figure of a motherland.

The stamp on the right commemorates PANAPEX which is an international stamp exhibition in Manila in 1952.  PANAPEX stood for Pan Asian Philatelic Exhibition (Philatelic is fancy word for stamp collecting).  It's worth noting that at this time, the Philippines was the richest in Asia compared to its neighbors.  So the country and its people had time and resources to indulge in frivolous things like stamp collecting.

Ah, the consummate hero of the Philippines.  Is there a street in any major Philippine city not named after him?
