So I have been looking around and I didn't find the answer yet. Simple question actually.
I have read that cash is king and it would be best to carry cash with you on your trip. This makes me nervous as shit because I don't even carry cash at home. Plus the idea of most of my money disappearing between bag check and me getting to my hotel is something else that makes me worry. My point is that I don't feel too comfortable with cash unless I keep it on my person or in a safe at all times.
So how do I go about traveling with cash? Yes I know this sounds like a stupid stupid question, but I have never traveled with more than maybe $80 in my wallet. Plus I usually put my wallet in that stupid little tray before going through the X-ray (perhaps I shouldn't).
I was planning on simply using ATM cards but I will still need some cash most likely at the airport.
Anyways. I am rolling with cash that I will exchange. What are some tips to ensure my money stays with me and doesn't go missing? Also, I think that I will be able to keep cash (as well as my wallet) on my person and there should be no reason to ever part. Is this true? or when security tells you to "empty your pockets" do they mean everything?
