Sun Protection

My current concoction of required medications causes me to have a severe sun allergy.  I can handle sunburn, but this is not the same.  At home, southern California, I manage to cover up with a long sleeve shirt or jacket, or stay out of the sun, but there is a huge difference between So. Cal and Cebu... humidity.  Does anyone with a similar medication induced sun allergy have any suggestions for staying cool and covered while still being able to enjoy being outside in the sun?  I was thinking of getting a lightweight wind breaker, but I fear even that might become a sauna.
