Tony Gilchrist, 35, was shot dead on Saturday evening in the Philipinnes. - GUARDIAN
===================
Summary:
Two days ago, a 35 year old British man and owner of Fish Buddies Dive Shop Resort in Malapascua island off northern Cebu was killed when he was shot six times by a security guard whom he had just fired. The guard has been identified as a 42 year old local man employed by a nearby security agency.
Supposedly, the guard was fired for repeatedly showing up late and drunk.
When the guard was arrested, the cops noticed he smelled of alcohol and acted uncooperatively.
The British man was remembered for his charity work in the Philippines. He's been living in the Philippines for two years.
A lesson learned here is, before firing your security guard, make sure you take his gun or at least the ammo, especially if he's drunk. Never argue with a drunk armed individual.
