MANILA, Philippines – A Swiss court has slapped a Filipina nurse described by newspapers as ‘Satanist’ or ‘Devil nurse’ with an £800 (PHP59,000) fine for posting on her Facebook accounts photos of herself, alongside dead or dying patients at a care home in Switzerland, according to The Daily Mail UK report.
Blaze Binder, a Filipino-born nurse, who also goes by the name Ghostinthedark Satania Blaze on her Facebook account, has published photos of pensioners then asked her social media followers to guess if the patients were dead or alive.
Along with the photos of corpses were messages like ‘Hail Satan’, while others claiming she was the ‘soul thief’.
Most of the pictures she took were from a care home in Mogelsberg where she used to work but were published only after it closed.
Binder, a 37-year-old Filipina who is married to a Swiss man, also posted photos of herself as a dominatrix clad in latex suit along with sets of tools like whips, then advertise herself on Facebook as the ‘queen of pleasures’.
In one of her comments, Binder once wrote: ‘Gonna send them to Hell where some belong, the rest in the compost pit for fertilizers – hehehe’.
And reacting to one comment who protested at the impropriety of her posted photos, she answered: ‘I can put anything I want in my Facebook (page) it’s mine. People who doesn’t want what I post they can juz up and die death is normal people die all the time!’
After making herself infamous on social media, the Swiss Association of Nurses condemned Binder’s actions saying the pictures ‘shocked and upset’ them.
“To be able to prevent the repeat of such a case, there is a desperate need for an active professional register and attractive working conditions to counteract the acute shortage of staff… Whether this was a qualified nurse, a professional carer or a simple assistant, it is clear that people like this should not be in the health sector,” said a statement from the federation.
However, when she was interviewed by a Swiss daily publication, Blick, after the case went public, the heavily-tatooed nurse defended her posts describing them as ‘beautiful pictures’ and even rationalized death as part of everyday life at the nursing home.
“I do not understand that people are upset about the photos,” she argued.
Relatives of the dead pensioners were outraged at the incident and demanded that Binder’s posted pictures be taken down immediately from the internet.
‘I do not understand for the life of me how such a thing can happen in a retirement home,’ one relative reportedly said.
Blaze Binder had since been fined £800 by a court in St. Gallen, Switzerland for ‘violating the peace of the dead’ and breach of trust on top of a suspended fine amounting to 120 days of pay.
