While stationed in Subic I used to take weekend journeys to AC. In true Sailor fashion, I was know to drink a beer or 2. I got to AC on Friday night, I rode the Victory Liner. I drank from one end of perimeter road to the Nipa Hut. I drank enough that I had to change clothes mid evening due to the pure smell of beer and sweat.
I repeated this process on Saturday. I drank and BF and drank some more. At some point on Saturday everything became hazy. I vaguely remember getting on a Victory Liner on Sunday afternoon. I thought I bought a ticket before getting on the bus. I didn't know they let you on the bus without a ticket, maybe they did. I don't know. I am completely out cold for parts of the ride back. There is a ticket guy that is on the bus, he has tried to wake me a couple times. We approach Olongapo and he finally wakes me up.
He asks for a ticket and I can't find one. I really am not functioning at all. I am hung over, I am still mostly still asleep, I am thirsty, I am hungry. He says something like 20PHP. I look at him like he is crazy (I thought I paid before I got on the bus). We are pulling in the station and writes me a ticket. Tells me to pay them at the window. I think he just knew I was way too drunk to deal with. The exchange rate was 20 PHP to the dollar back then. I walk to the window with a dollar bill. I didn't have any Pesos on me. She wouldn't take it. Told me to go change to pesos and come back. I changed like $20 and got back in line.
The entire trip was back was a blur. That is some fine drinking. Apparently I had a couple beers during moments of consciousness according to the other passengers. It explains why I had to pee so bad when I got off the bus. Even as drunk as I was on the bus, I didn't offend anyone or have anything stolen from me.
I was awake and it was Sunday. Time for a night of drinking before Monday morning.
