How To Avoid The Prostitution Virus When Staying In Angeles.

I have enjoyed planning my holiday with help from so many kind experienced people on this board. Usually I do my holiday planning alone with the help of Lonely Planet and Rough Guide, a very enjoyable pastime by the way, reading about all the places I will never reach. My bookshelves are full of them.

But quite useless of course when it comes to mongering towns.  For strangely enough, even though LP always has a section on where to go if you're gay, any mention of the fact that some of their readers may be heterosexuals interested in finding partners for the night is apparently totally taboo. They even write as if any reader would be horrified at the idea.  Always annoyed me, that contrast.  I bet they're hypocrites, and secretly enjoyed researching it. (Unless they were women of course).

So this is ALL you get from LP on hotels in Angeles - used by how many tourists every year?

"If you have to overnight in Clark keep in mind that the hotels are almost universally geared to prostitution. Your best bet is probably the Holiday Inn Clark, not far from the airport but isolated from the rest of Angeles City (a good thing)."

RG:  "so you're stuck in Angeles and want a hotel that does not have a girlie bar in the lobby. You can pay a huge premium to stay on the base in a resort geared to package golfers, or you can stay at Clark Star Hotel. A park and boulevard form a psychological as well as a physical divide between the hotel and nearby Fields Ave. Just be aware that no place escapes the sleaze entirely in Angeles".

OMG, there are dangers of infection everywhere! Maybe one can be inoculated against prostitution before leaving home?
