Fake $100 Bills In the Philippines
FYI,
From a very dependable Subic local:
I was told by Ike (Arleen’s Money exchange [Olongapo & Barrio Barretto]) that they are no longer accepting $100. Bills from the series 1996. The reason for this is his buyers will not take this series bill right now. Recently the local market has been flooded with “Super $100.Notes”. These have been around for a long time, but never in such a large quantity, as they now have appeared.
These are counterfeited in North Korea, and are almost impossible to detect from a real bill. They are only from the 1996 series. So most money exchanges have just stop taking these in. If your local bank tries to give you any of these bills, simply ask for newer bills. All banks are aware that these bills are in circulation, and will gladly exchange the bills for newer series.
